Survived by Me
Narrative Scalpel

Some brands survive me. I do not mean longevity. I mean: they were there before I had an opinion. They outlasted my cynicism. They were still in the room when I stopped performing my indifference.

That is a different kind of staying power. Not the survival of market share or category leadership. The survival of being present in a person when their guard is down.

They did not convince me. They simply never left.

I do not know when they got in.

That is the point.

The brands that survive me have one thing in common: they never tried to finish the sentence. They left something unresolved. A gap where I could enter with my own version of the story. Not their story. Mine — with their material.

That gap is not a flaw. It is the mechanism.

Brands that close every loop get applauded and forgotten. Brands that leave the last word out — that is where the root goes in.

Survived by me.
